Information We Collect
Account Information
When you create an account, we collect: • Your email address (if signing up with email and password) • Your name and profile picture (if signing in with Google) • Authentication credentials managed securely via Firebase Authentication
Usage & Session Data
To power your analytics, metrics, and leaderboard features, we collect: • Focus session records (duration, type, tags, timestamps) • Pomodoro timer usage and completions • Focus score and streak data • Leaderboard rankings and social activity
Device Information
We may collect basic device information including: • Device type and Android version • App version • Crash logs and performance data (via Firebase Crashlytics)
Accessibility Service Usage
Flow uses Android's Accessibility Service solely to power the App Blocking feature. When App Blocking is enabled by the user, the Accessibility Service detects when a blocked app is opened and redirects the user away from it. This service: • Is only active when App Blocking is explicitly turned on by the user • Does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data • Does not monitor, record, or log any content from other apps • Is not used for any purpose other than enforcing the user's chosen app blocks • Cannot be used to change settings, bypass Android privacy controls, or record audio
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to: • Create and manage your account • Display your focus metrics, streaks, heatmaps, and analytics • Power the global and friends leaderboard • Send focus reminders and session notifications (Flow Triggers) • Improve app performance and fix bugs • Process your subscription via Google Play Billing
Third-Party Services
Flow uses the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies: • Firebase (Google) — Authentication, database, and crash reporting. Advertising
Free-tier users may see ads served by Google AdMob. These ads may be personalized based on your interests as determined by Google. You can opt out of personalized ads through your device's Google account settings under Ads. Pro subscribers do not see any ads.
Children's Privacy
Flow is available to users of all ages. For users under the age of 13, we take additional care to comply with applicable children's privacy laws including COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act). We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information from children under 13 beyond what is necessary to operate the app. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information without your consent, please contact us at the email below and we will promptly delete it. Personalized ads are not shown to users identified as being under the age of 13.
Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored securely using Google Firebase infrastructure, which includes encryption at rest and in transit. We implement industry-standard security practices to protect your information. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your data, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your Rights & Data Control
You have the right to: • Access the personal data we hold about you • Request correction of inaccurate data • Request deletion of your account and associated data • Withdraw consent at any time To delete your account or request your data, please contact us at the email address below. We will process your request within 30 days.
Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or legitimate business purposes.
